To change your username:

• Start Messi.im and login.
• Go to Settings/Account Settings
• Just change the username in the textfield behind Account
• Tap on Save.
• Done

Please note: You are still using the same user acccount with Messi.im, just the name has changed!

On your friends iPhones/iPod Touch your username will be updated the next time they login.
